Landscape Animation

Test and Evaluate (Conclusion Questions):

1. In detail describe your step-by-step animation workflow, including the tools and techniques used in Ai and Ae.

When I started this project, my original idea or plan was to have a more tropical landscape. However, I decided to change my mind to do something more creative and unique, so I decided to take my current interest in the film Wicked and turn that into a landscape. When creating this landscape, I had really put a lot of effort into all of the details like the lighting of the sky onto the city and the ombre effect in the sky, and the bubbles as well. I tried to add as many small little details I could in order to really make this landscape stand out. Now, when it came to the animation part, that's where things became a lot more difficult to work with. The very first problem was the quality of the images and video; no matter what I did, I could not seem to get it as clear as I would've liked it to be. I also had a hard time attempting to complete my animations due to some problems with storage and not being able to save my project, so I wasn't able to add things like my music or sound, my special animations, etc. Other than that, I think I was able to show most of my understanding of using After Effects with the animation of the trees moving with the wind as well as the character in the background and the bubbles.

2. Reflect on your technical skills in both Ai and Ae. Which aspects were easiest for you, and which were most challenging? How did you overcome any difficulties?

Out of this entire project, the easiest aspect for me was the work in Adobe Illustrator, as it is something I am a lot more similar with and am able to manipulate and navigate a lot easier than After Effects, which I was not as similar with and had a lot of difficulties using. I attempted to overcome these challenges by doing some of my own research on how to fix certain problems and trying to learn more about how to use After Effects. Overall, really trying my best to move through and work with some of these issues that occurred during my process of animation and in the end the results wasn't as bad as I thought it's be.
